Classic potato hash

Russet potatoes - 2 medium.
Ice cold water - 2 cups.
Paprika - 1tsp
Garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
Parmesan -1/2 cup
Flour - 2 tsp.
Bread crumbs with seasoning -  1tsp(optional)
Butter 1 tbsp.
Coconut oil 1 tbsp.

1. Peel and grate the potatoes.
2. Place the grated potatoes in the ice cold water.
3. Squeeze the potatoes using both the hands to remove excess water.
4. Spread them on a paper or kitchen towel.
5. Transfer the contents to a mixing bowl and add the spice powders along with the cheese and flour.
6. Heat a pan with coconut oil and butter.
7. Use the measuring cup. I used 1/2 cup.
8. Fill the cup with potato mixture.
9. Transfer the contents to the pan and using the back of the cup or a spatula flatten the potatoe mixture.
This will make equal sized hash.
10. After 2-3 mins on a medium heat flip the hash.

11. Transfer the hash to a serving plate and enjoy.

I started learning cooking from my grandmother, Mrs. Gunaseeli, who gave me her recipes and tips and some measurement tools for making them. The red measuring cup that I use in my recipes was once owned by my granny. My grandmother is very passionate about cooking and travel. She has written many cook books. This blog is one way to document her writing and to make it available for everyone.
